Ingredients
- 3 14oz. cans black beans, rinsed and drained well
- 3 pounds quick oats
- 2 tablespoons garlic, granulated
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons pepper
- 1 tablespoon celery seed
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 3 tablespoons cumin
- 1 large white onion
- 2 red peppers
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a food processor, grind oats and spices and place in a mixing bowl.
In the food processor, grind the onion and peppers and add to the mixing bowl.
Mix together by hand the beans, oat mixture, and onion and pepper mixture. You want the beans to break up but you do not want the mixture to be completely smooth.
Form into patties of the desired size.
Place on a sheet pan with parchment paper and spray the top of the burgers with nonstick spray.
Bake for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through to brown both sides.
Extra patties may be frozen with parchment paper separating each patty.
