Vivapalooza is a free community event which emphasizes wellness education and empowerment for all ages.

This year’s theme will focus on the following areas of disease information and prevention: brain and spine health, diabetes, cancer (prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, and recovery), cardiovascular and pulmonary health, arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders, and gluten sensitivity. Physicians from Cape Cod Healthcare and Emerald Physicians will be on hand in these areas to share information.

Other features include a farmers’ market with fresh produce and products available for sale, health screenings, a blood drive with the Cape Cod Healthcare Blood Center, cooking and juicing demos, a healthy fare food tasting featuring over twenty local restaurants, community resources, and an exciting Kids Zone with lots of healthy hands-on fun. The Viva 5k walk/run will kick off the day at 9am.

Attendees can also take a free class in the BHS courtyard.

Dr. Kumara Sidhartha of Emerald Physicians adds, “Vivapalooza has become a true expression of our patient-centered values put into practice through education and empowerment during this event. Medical science has realized that a sense of belonging in a community is a true measure of one’s health. This event does just that - building community by creating a safe space for all to come together and explore practical ways of healthful living and its cutting-edge science in a totally family-friendly, fun and relaxed environment. In that sense, the whole event is a prescription for health for Cape Cod.”
