Falmouth Marine & Environmental Services, in partnership with the Buzzards Bay Coalition, invites you to join us for an afternoon of family shellfish fun!

Learn about the shellfish that live in Falmouth’s local waters during this free discovery day. We’ll teach you the basics of local quahogging – what you need, how to do it, and where to go – and introduce you to the bay scallops that swim below the surface of West Falmouth Harbor. This will be a fun and educational activity for the whole family!

Please dress to get wet and muddy. You do not need a Falmouth shellfishing permit to participate in this event. The Coalition will provide all necessary equipment (rakes, peck baskets, gauges, and waders) for you to use, but you are welcome to bring your own.

- No shellfish license necessary! One day only!

- Oyster and quahog shucking
- Hands-on shellfish harvesting demonstrations
