Falmouth Farmers' Market
Author Susie Middleton will with us between noon to 4pm. Her latest book is Fresh from the Farm: A Year of Recipes and Stories. Susie is a cook, a writer and a farmer on Martha’s Vineyard. How she got to be all three is a fascinating story in itself (www.sixburnersue.com). We’re looking forward to tapping Susie’s brain for what to do with all the late summer bounty we’re seeing.
Also this week, community composting: Keep it up, Falmouth: over half a ton of food scraps diverted from the landfill! Bring your food scraps and pizza boxes—they’re compostable too– to Compost with Me. CWM will also be selling bagged compost for a late-season garden/planter boost or lawn top-dressing.
Recycling Display: Know what’s supposed to go in your blue re-cycling bin—and what not? The answers, courtesy of Ginny Gregg, will surprise you!
Learn the mandoline: LeRoux Kitchen will demonstrate how a mandoline can increase kitchen productivity.
Matching SNAP dollars: Our market accepts SNAP, as well as WIC and Senior coupons. And we’ll double your SNAP card purchase at each market—up to $10 in bonus tokens. To get started, please see Natasha Miskovsky, the market manager, at the market information table.
